Brown Fused Alumina is created through the fusion of bauxite in an electric arc furnace at high temperatures. The resulting product is a brownish colored material that exhibits exceptionally high hardness and toughness. The process of producing Brown Fused Alumina involves fusing bauxite in a tilting electric arc furnace at elevated temperatures. This product exhibits excellent temperature resistance, strong erosion resistance, high mechanical strength and remarkable thermal stability. Because of its properties, it is an ideal raw material for the manufacturing of shaped refractories.
Brown Aluminum Oxide is produced by fusing premium raw materials in a 3500 KVA furnace. It is specifically designed for general abrasive applications in bonded abrasive tools, polishing and sandblasting grit. Although Brown Aluminum Oxide has lower hardness and abrasive capacity than diamond, boron carbide, and silicon carbide, it is widely used for grinding ferrous materials and finishing tough and hard materials. Additionally, it can be used as high-class refractory material.
Al2O3 content is not less than 96.3%, while SiO2 content is up to 1.4% and Fe2O3 content is less than 0.21%. The maximum permissible content of TiO2 is 1.5%.
